Integrated Therapy

The Children's Health℠ Integrated Behavioral Health Program has partnered with more than 25 pediatric primary care providers throughout the Greater Dallas area to make behavioral health care easier to access. The purpose of this program is to meet the needs of our community by helping children and teens struggling with depression and anxiety receive early and prompt intervention.

If you or your child’s doctor is concerned about your child’s mental health, our licensed mental health professionals can talk to you further about your concerns.

Based on our assessment, we can refer your child to services in your community or provide short-term therapy and ensure communication with your child’s PCP about the treatment plan. Our goal is to help your child get the mental health care they need, when and where they need it.

A Health care team devoted to each child

Our highly skilled board-certified pediatricians, pulmonologists and rehabilitation medicine physicians, are supported by a team of pediatric nurses, therapists, dietitians, psychologists and other specialists to ensure all your child’s needs are being met during their recovery. Our hospitalists, who are board certified in pediatrics, make daily rounds and remain on call 24/7.

Help for families at every step

The moment a child enters our doors, a case manager and social worker are assigned to assist the family in identifying community resources, to provide appropriate counseling and to help design a thorough discharge plan. Family care conferences are held within the first week after admission and every two weeks thereafter. Children's Health Integrated Therapy also has a relationship with the local Ronald McDonald House® to accommodate overnight or extended stays for qualifying family members.

Family-centered care

We believe that children flourish when surrounded by family. We furnish parents and other caregivers with support, education and hands-on training pertinent to a child’s condition. Family members are encouraged to participate in many aspects of a child’s treatment, as they will be critical to providing follow-up care at home. Parents can stay 24 hours a day while learning to provide care. Even siblings are invited to join in playtime and to interact with their brother or sister, further simulating the normal routines of home.
